WORKING IN THE CREATIVE MEDIA SECTOR - WEEK 2: RECRUITMENT

OK, you should by now have told me about the variety of job roles that are available in the computer games industry. It's now time to move on to exactly how games developers and publishers go about recruiting people to those jobs. Do this via the following steps.

1. Open up a new blogpost with the title 'Recruitment In The Games Industry'.

2. Add the heading 'Online Recruitment Review'

3. Paste the following link into your blogpost                          jobs.gamesindustry.biz

Go to the link, find the 'About Us' link near the bottom of the page & quote (in quote marks and italics) what you consider relevant from it.

4. Add the heading: 'Usefulness' Browse the jobs being advertised, spend some time on the site. Then complete a review of the site that answers these questions How useful do you think this site would be  to look for games industry jobs? Read some of the job descriptions/demands - what kind of qualifications do they need and does the description match up with the typical job descriptions you've created? Are there any jobs you would be interested in? Do you plan on using this site in the future? Have a look again at what you've quoted from the About Us section - does the site live up to its stated aims? GIve it a mark out of ten

5.  Repeat step 3 for the following link                               datascope.co.uk

6. Add the heading 'Usefulness' and have a look round, maybe also a search for jobs. Tell me the following - What happens if you apply? What do you get if you 'register'?  How useful do you think this site would be in order to look for games industry jobs? In the 'Gateway To Games' section, especially the long list of UK companies at the bottom of the page do you see any games companies you've heard of or recognise? When you follow the links to these individual companies can you find a 'Vacancies' section, or a 'Contact Us' page where you might enquire about jobs or internships? Will you contact them? Whatabout the 'Graduate Advice' section (https://datascope.co.uk/graduate-advice)? Have a read of it - how useful do you find it? Give the site a mark out of ten.
