WORKING IN THE CREATIVE MEDIA SECTOR - WEEK 3: USING LINKEDIN


1. Go to linkedin.com and create a linkedin profile using the guidance in the links below. Not one that takes you five minutes to make. Follow companies you're interested in, state your skills, upload your CV if you have one, link with each other and endorse each other for the skills you've picked up in your course.

The following sites will be useful. You never know - getting your linkedin profile right and updating it when needed might one day get you the job you want. It does happen. It does work.

2. Add to last week's work (the post you were doing in which you reviewed jobsites) by pasting in a link to your linkedin profile - make it a heading in fact.

3. On linkedin, have a search for games industry jobs in the 'Jobs' tab at the top of the screen. Again, write an evaluative paragraph telling me how useful you think the site might be and why. Try different search terms, see how many jobs are actually available in this region. When job-searching in the future, will you use Linkedin? Give the site a mark out of 10.

4. Publish the whole post now including reviews of gamesindustry.biz, datascope.co.uk and linkedin.com'
